The TOEFL iBT test measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. It evaluates how well you combine your reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills to perform academic tasks. TOEFL is conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is widely accepted by over 11,500 universities and academic institutions in more than 106 countries, such as the U.S., the U.K., New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and across Asia and Europe. It is popular in English as well as non-English speaking countries.

General Facts


Date and Frequency

The TOEFL test has over 50 test dates per year at authorized test centers around the world. You can retake the test as many times as you wish, but you cannot take it more than once in a 3-day period. If you already have a test appointment, you cannot register for another test date that is within 3 days of your existing appointment. The registration fee is due each time you register for a test date.

Center and Admit Card

The TOEFL iBT test, administered via the internet, is offered more than 50 times a year at authorized test centers around the world. There is no admit card provided.

Result

You can view your scores online or via the TOEFL official app, approximately 6 days after you take the test.

Score Reporting

Your test fee includes up to 4 free official TOEFL score reports to be sent to the TOEFL Destinations that you select before you take the test. Official score reports will be sent to your designated recipients within 11 days after you take the test.

TOEFL Exam Registration Process

You can either register online and pay the test fee by Credit/Debit Card, e-check or Paypal or register by Courier(If you are testing outside the United States, U.S. territories and Canada, mail your form and payment to your RRC.) or you can register by phone and pay with a debit/credit card.

  • Step 1 : Sign-up with the ETS website to start the registration

  • Step 2 : Create a profile after which a confirmation will be received

  • Step 3 : Choose a date and center for the test

  • Step 4 : Select universities where the scores are to be sent

  • Step 5 : Download and print the registration form

  • Step 6 : Fill up the information with black or blue ink

  • Step 7 : Send the form to Regional Registration Center with payment
